Sound creates a multitude of vibrations that initiate meaningful harmonized movement explorations in the body. The sounds we use in this YogaSOMATICS practice are not repetitive – instead they expand out, fold in and complexify. It is important to listen with deep openness to the sound and also feel its dynamic effect on your body’s tissues.  

Each time we connect with a sound – we connect with the entire field of that sound . . . the vibrational holograph of that sound that has existed since the first utterance, the first impulse of thought of that sound. Sound is like a vibratory society that can give us access to wider ranges of information. By learning to use sound somatically – in our bodies, responsively, we can put this vibratory information to use.
